Instructor Upgrade
WHAT IS THE INSTRUCTOR UPDATE ?
As in the SSI System an instructor cannot immediately teach higher levels after becoming OWI there is the possibility to upgrade his instructor level attending an upgrade seminar after sufficient experience. The benefit for the instructors is a higher employability and the challenge of being able to teach new dive courses and a wide range of specialties.
The upgrade seminar focus' is on the transfer of practical teaching techniques, getting familiar with the student and instructor materials and tips of selling continuing education.
The seminar requires some home study and haltf to one relaxed day of teaching workshop.
Upgrade to Specialty Instructor (for detailed prerequesites please contact me) :
To become a Specialty Instructor it is possible to do this:
- by approval by an SSI Dealer, having extensive experience in that area and co-teaching the specialty with another Specialty Instructor
- through an Instructor Trainer, which gives hands on training, knowledge and ideas selling the new specialty.
During the Specialty Instructor course of one day we will take a look at the student materials and the ConEd philosophy of SSI.
Upgrade to Advanced Open Water Instructor (for detailed prerequesites please contact me) :
To become an AOWI you can:
- by approval of an SSI dealer, having experience in the specific areas and co-teaching the specialties with a specialty instructor
- attend an upgrade seminar with an Instructor Trainer where at least 4 specialties are covered, in one day
Upgrade to Dive Control Specialist Instructor (for detailed prerequesites please contact me) :
As DCSI you are able teach professional courses like the DCS course. The seminar takes 2 days.
To become and DCSI you need (beside others) :
- to have issued at least 30 certifications
- attend a DCSI seminar with an SSI IT/IC
